This is my handmade paper. I made this paper out of two t-shirts, one navy blue and one white. Then I set the type by hand and printed it on a platen press.

Angels and Hearts!

This is fun! Since it is Valentine's Day this week, I am having fun making a weeks worth of Angels and Hearts. This is a pink acrylic and gesso background with lilac angels and hearts stamped onto it in different colors and layers.

This is the Angel With Hearts from yesterday. I put it in photoshop used the posterize filter to make the angel black and white. Then I used the hue/saturation layer to add a red layer. Then I but a black and white layer over that and then I used a paintbrush on the black and white layer to make the hearts appear in red.

Halo–Black & White version

This is my halo from yesterday. I put it in photoshop and used a black and white filter and a pastel filter on it as well.

I painted this halo using acrylic paint. I sponge painted the background and then painted the halo with gold paint.

Blue Angel

This is my angel sketch from yesterday. I took it into Photoshop and added a hue/saturation layer to colorize her. Then I used a posterize filter to add some texture. Then I used a gradient layer to add the frame.

So, I am having fun experimenting with all my pencils as I do these angel sketches. This is a 6B pencil which is very soft and lent itself well to shading.

This is the angel painting from yesterday with photoshop filters added. First I added a hue/saturation layer to change the color. Then, I added a chalk/charcoal filter.
